lol, I ment is there a certain type of wire I should use when grounding my TT's and mixer to my laptop, when using TCV's?? Right now I have three different types of wires, I'm grounding w/....and I'm hearing a whistling or buzzing sound when I record.

a metal wire would do..

but the buzzing might come from a different thing, called ground loop. If you are using a laptop, thats a common issue...

easy to test, just run on batteries, and if hum is gone = ground loop issue

If so, get ground loop eliminator, or try different power outlet for your equipement, or get non-ground extention cord, and plug your stuff into that

so what your saying is - I don't even have to ground anything, if all my hardware is plugged in to a non-ground extension cord?

fishnets don't work though...j/k you dont want something brittle or something to thick either just go get yourself some 18 gauge speaker wire from an auto store ..split it down the middle and viola theres ur ground
