Topic: Soundcard for laptop + decks + mixer?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi,

Ok, this is my current set up:

2 x decks
1 x mixer
1 x hi-fi
1 x laptop

I want to link my decks to my mixer, then my mixer to my laptop so I can use VDJ with TCV but also my viynl. I want to use my mixer to mix, not an external MP3 mixer like the Hercules. Could anyone advise on a decent, relaltivly cheap external soundcard that I could use? I've eBayed and Googled but still have no solid results. Also, I'm from the UK so nothing thats USA sourced please (thats all I could find searching the forums). Does anyone have this setup running?

Thanks in advance for any help.

(p.s I haven't bought VDJ as I want to know if I can run this setup - hence none reg user)

maybe it doesn't because you don't have VDJ registered :) it works for me ;)
buy VDJ pro and may44 USB.

And you will need Y-splitters to use normal vinyls too, or you can set function in VDJ to bypass the signal of normal vinyls.

Thanks Xeon. I picked one up for about £77 from www.makingwavesaudio.com. I'll get VDJ Pro when it comes through!
