Hi Forum,

i´ve got some problems with various MP3 Files.
When i put the track in one of the player/channels, the track has a very long playtime (10-14 minutes).
When i reel the track to the end, the VDJ software corrected the time of the track.
But i´ve got the feeling, that this files make the VDJ software unstably.
Sometimes the software crash on my P4 3,6GHz and 1024MB.

Have you any feedback for me what the cause could be?
I cannot explain what the differens between the particular files could be.

Thanks for your feedback

Viele Gruß/ best regards
JayDee

Try altering your 'Max Load' settings to 30 mins in the Config panel.

Some mp3's have issues when they've been ripped. Best thing to do i would think would be to rip them again if max load doesn't help.

Cheers...and keep spinnin'...:o)

What do you think is the best program for ripping?
The problem ist, that i record the tracks from an internet radio station.
Do you know a program which i can use for "re-ripping"?

Sometimes I have the same problem and Virtual Dj crash! Really horrible during one mix session.
I use Exact Audio Copy program with lame encoder version lame3.98a2 to RIP in mp3 and if I reripped the file the problem is solved, but I don't understand why winamp can read perfect the file.

I know this problem it's about some vbr encoded files don't report their length correctly.
I can't blame vdj for this, even winamp ssometimes has this problem with the same files.
I have 2 solutions:
1. Analyse your files, then the correct length will be stored in the .xml database file
2. I use the little mp3trim pro utilility, among others it has a batch function and it can correct problems like this and tag errors in the mp3 files.
You can also avoid to rip in vbr, use a fixed rate to avoid the problem.

I use VBR all the time, never have a problem with the files in my PC. But I see that you have some options to configurate before rip the songs and maybe some parameter there cause the problem.
