Topic: How can pioneer mixer and DVD player be set up with VDJ?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I was looking at alternatives to CD players and midi mixers, and I wanted to know if anyone has given thought of using a Pioneer DJM1000 and 2 Pioneer DVJX1 CD n DVD turntables to operate VDJ. If so I wanted to get more insight into the connections needed to make this configuration work and find out if the midi control on the DJM1000 could control the VDJ features, and if that midi signal can be split so the mixer can send data to an external video mixer that would be recieving video feeds from the DVJx1s for output to projection.

any thoughts? any 1?

No offense to Virtual DJ but if I had two DJVX1s, a DJM-1000, and a kick-ass video mixer, I probably wouldn't be using VDJ.

I know wa u mean.....however when u take into account that VDJ does with video what mp3 did to CD, as far as removing hauling CD cases or for that matter vynil cases around, being able to fully intergrate the functionality of the DVX! with VDj is the true wave of the future..If I had the money Id develop that myself ...lol... Having all videos on a central libary is way better.

TAKE NOTE VDJ Creators......U guys should really be looking into this direction.....how can this be done?....I volunteer to be the beta tester.

well drjust, you can actually use TCV or TCCD to control VDJ's videos. If you'd like to have 1 crossfader to control the sound AND video you would require a midi mixer with an assignable crossfader so you can map it in the VDJ keyboard shortcuts. This way you'd be able to beatmatch your music videos, use the VDJ video transitions and effects, scratch a song and see it on screen, etc.

Hope this helps since you don't really need the high end equipment to do what your looking for.

Best Regards
