directX sound driver error, what does it means?

I have Win XP SP2 with the latest dirextx, Virtual dj 3.3 and all is ok.

This error means VDJ doesn't recognize (find) a sound output (maybe used in the past: external sound card in general)
Go to the sound settings in VDJ and select the config again

I juse external soundcard but stil the problem is there. i never had trouble with it.Only since yersterday.Do i Have to download the new directx

Start-> Run
type in 'dxdiag'
you should see version 9.0c (or later if there is a later one?)

DirectX sound driver error also happens if you switch your sound board in ASIO mode, while running VirtualDJ in DirectX mode, so that VirtualDJ doesn't detect the direct Sound card.
Check if it also happens when you switch your sound card in WDM mode instead of ASIO prior to running VirtualDJ.
