Topic: Making broadcast stream public on shoutcast??

I need to know which plugin i need to use to broadcast to shoutcast. I"ve gotten it to work using the lame_enc.dll that is found on the virtual dj directory but it doesn't allow my streams to be seen on shoutcast.com. I've tried others like dsp_sc.dl but i get message that says "broadcast error" encoder error". Can you guys tell me which version of the shoutcast dsp plugin will work with virtual dj 3? Ive tried 1-8-2b and 1-9-2. Please advise ...i've also tried a version of the SAM encoder but nothing seems to work except the lame_enc.dll. Again i want my stream to show up on shoutcast list of public streams. Thanks.

download section has the server you need to run
whilst running VDJ
the mp3 plugin is under i want to be a dj section
 
sure i have the server but i want it to show up in the shoutcast list of stations...i'm running the server and trying the different plugins i mentioned above but none except for the lame work...
 
 
so then i just point virtual dj's encoder to that plugin correct? Winamp doesn't need to be running i'm assuming? So ...if the server dnas is running then i should be able to point that dsp encoder using the browse function under broadcast config...and it should work right? Anything else i need to do? Does the encoder options come up like it does when yoru running winamp? thanks for the help
 
ok...i just tried that ..installed it in winamp directory...then went under broadcast config pointed to dsp_sc.dll and saved...exited ...started shoutcast server...then restarted virtual dj..started trying to broadcast and got the same error "broadcast error" encoder error. I've broadcasted to shoutcast with winamp for years so i know my password settings ect are right infact if i point to the lame_enc.dll in virtual directory it will broadcast but i want to use a different encoder so it will show up on www.shoutcast.com list of stations....you know "make public" that you check on the encoder when using winamp...what am i missing?
 
I think you confusing the setup
under broadcast i have the lame_dll selected

before i hit record i run the Shoutcast DNSA (console or GUI)
then hit record it will say server conted waiting to start

Then i start winamp
in its prefrences select the
dsp/effect
Nullsoft Shoutcast cast source
make sure your settings are corect for that

start a browser to your http://yourip:8000

play a couple of songs if you see titles change on refresh of that page then all is set up correct

thats my setup and i access it with 2 other ISPs so i know it works 99%
 
dsp_sc.dll will never work as an encoder for the simple fact it is not an encoder! This is the dsp plugin for winamp; virtualdj has an integrated shoutcast plugin. Therefore the only system setting you can change is which mp3 encoder you would like to use; an mp3 encoder being the piece which converts what you broadcast into an mp3 stream.
 
ahh..thanks i didn't realize that to make public i would have to run winamp too..i thought virtual dj could run the plugin ...gotch ya.

Server is currently up and PRIVATE

i can get virtualdj TO stream fine i just need , set it to Public so it does not drop off shout cast every time i go live any help guys or do i need this DSP plug in for win amp?

yes thats for local hosting. on your pc. my hosting is on webserver out in cyberspace.
is it the same proccess?

little quetion does this work with vdj8 or do i need somthing els to make it work
 
Well done on bumping a 10 year thread, no ice/shout casting is restricted to pro licence holders only.
 
got pro on another acc but if we(im only the server opperator how is looking for a solution)use the setings on vdj 8 then is the stream stil on private do you know what i do wrong

yep im the onlyone how cant solve this after 10 jears
