Just a heads up for anyone looking to buy a small lightweight laptop solution for Virtual DJ. I grabbed a Dell Latitude X1 and the results were no good
Virtual DJ 3.3 Registered
Latest Hercules DJ Konsole drivers and firmware
Fresh install of Windows XP SP2 with all updates as of January 2006
Latest Dell BIOS
All dell drivers and system tools up to date
Screen saver diabled
Power saver settings all set to Never
It seems that the intgrated Intel graphics card bugs out after about 1 - 2 hours of use, turns the screen purple and locks up the computer. Need to hard power down.
The funny part is music continues to play on autopilot and I have full control of VDJ using the hercules console, but the PC keyboard is not functional as is the screen so you're essentially flying blind.
Save yourself 1,500.00 - 2,500.00 and get the Inspiron 700m if you need a small laptop solution.

GiraffeHunter,
The main problem with this smallfactor laptops is the PROCESSOR Chip. Did you notice that is a special device for low power consumtion and lightweight? (1.2GHz only) in english: Don't is a powerful equipment.
Some new laptops come with Pentium Dual Core system. That's what you need for a good performance. Gateway have a model, and maybe Dell too.
Good Luck!

lol, maybe I should have explained better...
I work in IT and have access to every size shape and model laptop computer. I chose the Latitude X1 because of it's size and weight. For some DJs size and weight are very important.
My Current PC is a Latitude D-810 it's a monster laptop that not only is huge, but also weighs a ton and a half. It performs great with no issues even when mixing video. I was looking for a much smaller laptop to use for DJing only.
I checked the specs and they met and exceeded the minimum requirements to run Virtual DJ, so I went ahead and tested my Registered version of Virtual DJ on it with hopes of it being my new laptop.
It worked quite well no audio problems it responded to all my actions with no delay, it just had video issues.
Lastly I would never buy a Gateway ;p

ok, just an example... I don't like to much gateway anyway, but dual-core processors for laptops are going to bring power with less weight and more battery life ;-)
