Is there a step-by-step tutorial for using VDJ Database Updater? I'd like to know what its purpose is EXACTLY and how to use it without screwing something up. Thanks in advance for all replies.

Its really not needed anymore, as Virtual DJ now have far better BPM detection, even two different "engines" where you will almost always get it correct, with one of them....
But, the updater is for using BPM values exported from other programs, most often the free Mixmeister BPM detection utility. This utility can export the BPM to a tekstdokument, and the updater will update the songs in the Virtual DJ database with the values from this tekstdokument.
Its pretty easy, and works fine..
