Once you have gained enough skill regarding basic mixing, it is time to move up the scale of DJ'ing, and progress into better mixing. How can I achieve better mixing you ask? Well the answer lies within the EQ's! This isnt the main point, but however it does play an significant role in making your mixes sound more cleaner and non-sloppy so to speak. First of all, it is worth while to know your EQ and its function. Once you have done that, it can be used to enhance your mix's quality greatly. Second of all, to use your EQ to its full capacity, it is worth while to create shortcuts for your chosen EQ. For instance, the letter M can be a shortcut to cut the bass, or the letter N to cut the treble. The reason for this is because, when mixing, and when the cross-fader is in the middle, so both songs are playing, it is impossible to to introduce at the same time deck's a bass and cut off Deck's b bass. And so thats da reason for the shortcuts being used. Not only will it sound good but "professional" and your friends will be impressed! So I hope this helps you begginer atomix Dj's. This is your Atomix Dj, Ivan Z sayin' keep on mixing!
