I have an Toshiba Satallite laptop and it has a built in S vidio port on the back but I can't get anything on the tv screen when I run a cable from computer to tv.
I am not opposed to buyin a vidio card if needed, but i figured i would ask first.
operating system is XP. thanks for your help in advance.

Turn the tv and laptop off.
Make sure everything is plugged in and tehn turn on tv. Thenturn on laptop.
This should atleast give you a clone on your TV of yourlaptop screen.
Then go to display in control panel and go to settings. Clcik on the 2 monitor and then select extend desktop onto this screen.Hit Ok.
You should now have to sepearate screens.

Got the same laptop. Make sure your s-video is plugged in like yourbasic dj said. Let it boot up. Go to the intel extreme graphics control area in the control panel and select the appropriate options. You might wanna update your driver too.
