Topic: bad mp3?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I play the song on the deck and at the end it says "ERROR in the MP3 file" and I get no info displayed.
I can only get about 1 out of 10 songs to work! demo glitch??

k...correction to that post:
Info is still registering on the screen...in fact the message doesn't seem to really do anything. Just causes the icon in the folder to have red cross on the cd instead of "good scan". Whattup wit dat?

OKay..well..thx for all the help on this...
Update: It seems the songs that are affected are the ones I ripped using Goldwave from my own cd library. Any thoughts why i get error in mp3 file from that?

seems as though you are slowly answering your own questions.
What are the bitrates of these tracks? Try to figure out what they all have in common.

Also perhaps try using a different encoding software, or change some of the settings in goldwave.

Yes, Im learning as I go. I thought it was because it was a demo...but its definitely my Goldwave...although what is it that makes it show the error after the song plays (the whole while the mp3 plays, it registers the bpm, cue, etc.).
