Since the other post was kinda burried - I thought I would just open a topic.

Okay - some of ya posted 'no skipping' for your setups. Thats great you are not skipping. How about posting what your hardware/os/soundcard config is so we know what 'matches' and what 'skips like fred astair in the rain.'

:-) For me - I have skipping. Known issue with Audigys apparently -- though might be a motherboard/os/thing.
so for me:

skipping: Athelon 1200 / 1GB ram / Win2K / SB Audigy Platinum (internal)

Let's get this roadmap of 'working' in place. :-)

No skipping, or any audio problems for that matter:
Sony Vaio P4, 2GHZ, 512MB, Harmon-Kardon USB Audio, WinXP

You might want to try an inexpensive USB external d/a card, for like $20-$30, the sound quality is hard to beat for the price. Harmon-kardon makes a very nice one. This way you can see if it's your Audigy that's the problem.

Hi,

I can choose if i want skip problems so to say. I will explain. I have downloaded new drivers for my soundcard (Sb Pci 128) and if i put the hardware accelerartion up to full atomix skips. I have to move it down two notch's in order for atomix not to skip. I have noticed an increase in quality since updating drivers tho which is good.

Overall im happy to lower the acceleration, however, i wish i could turn it rite up. :))

No Skipping:

AMD/K6 500, 394 Meg, Sound Blaster Live, Win 98
AMD/K7 850, 512 Meg, SIS onboard sound, Win 98
AMD/Athlon 1700,512 Meg, Sound Blaster Live, XP Pro

I use the AMD 500 Rackmounted for my DJ Business. Nothing on the computer but sound related programs. Why complicate matters!

P-4 1.8g 512 ram (desktop... home)
Athelon XP1300 256 ram (laptop... work)

On both I have a seperate hard drive for mp3 storage. I don't keep MP3's on the primary drive. (the same drive that Atomixmp3 & the OS is on.)
both have basic sound cards.
sometimes on the laptop I use a telex usb device as a 2nd sound card. either way, no skipping, and good sound.
