Topic: Mids and Highs Distorted...Why????

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I just purchased and downloaded Atomixmp3 a couple days ago. This has to be the best program I have used so far. Just one problem...Why do the mids and highs sound somewhat distorted? They sound great on other players. Is this a problem with the software? Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try to install the latest drivers, the latest DirectX and disable "master tempo" in the sound config.

Thanks for replying. But I couldn't find any option to disable the "master tempo" under the sound configuration options. Am I missing something? Also, I have Windows XP as my OS and this comes with Direct X 8.1, so my drivers should be up to date. Any other suggestions?

In Atomix, go to Options, then click on Master Tempo!

Hope it helps, Adrien

I am sorry, I am must be missing something or have a different version. Under the Options menu, I cannot find anything that says "Master Tempo." I see lots of other stuff, but not this.

If it isn't Master Tempo, try finding Time Scretch. Sorry for my orthography.

Pitch Range: -34% to 34%
Crossfader: Full
Security: Ask
Tooltip: Enabled
Muliti instance: Disabled
Auto BPM: Enabled
Auto Beatmatch: Enabled
Auto Gain: Enabled

or try the 8% instead of 34% pitch adjust. I use the time stretch, and have never noticed any problems with the sound. But if I need to adjust more than 8% I either pick another song, or don't mix it. It'd be cool of we had a step or 2 in between 8% and 34%... like 16% would be nice. I don't think I'd go for a mix that needed the whole 16%, but it'd be nice to have a smaller option than 34%. Just a thought.
