Try to rename them and delete all signs like _, (, ), etc.

Call them simply i.e. "darude - sandstorm"

Having several 10's of Gigs worth of MP3s in one and the same folder I would guess the answer to your question is negative (or at least I didn't reach the limit yet).

By the way (to make sure) : when downloading new files or saving files to your master directory with Atomix already running requires you to change directory and come back to the appropriate directory (some sort of refresh) before they will actually appear in your songlist.

Do the MP3 files appear/play with another MP3 player (like WinAmp or other) ?

What sample-rate are the MP3s ?

yeah... my new mp3's work in WinAmp, Windows Media Player and MusicMatch, but not Atomix... i've even split everything into categories and still NO DICE... has anyone tried to uninstall and reinstall it? would that be the common sense thing to do?

any help is appreciated... thanks guys
