Topic: 3d sound card not working with v2.1 ???

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi,

I recently upgraded to version 2.1, and now I have the following problem:
Using the sound configuration menu, I choose to use a 3d sound card (I have a SB live!), and the mixer output. If I press OK now, I get the following error:

"Impossible to init the WDM driver. Please check that you have the proper WDM (and not VxD) driver installed, with quad-output functions.
(Please note that win95 and win98osr1 do not support WDM drivers)"

I'm running win98osr2, and these settings used to work in version 2.0... What's wrong???

Cheers,
Erik

Possibly you don't have installed/updated the wdm drivers in your system. Another user had the same problem as you some time ago. He found some unofficial wdm drivers (creative wdm drivers) at http://shs-sound.paraknowya.com/. He installed them and he then installed the directX 8.1 and atomixmp3 worked again in his win98osr2.
