Topic: why must i turn my volume all the way up just to hear the music playing!?

why must i turn my volume to maxium just to hear the music being played??? is this normal? if i play regular mp3 in windows media player i don't have to turn up my volume all the way just to hear it. it only seems to happen when i run atomixmp3 mixer. whats up??
