I have virtual dj hercules console. Also Win 98/Celeron 2.2.

The program loads off the disc OK but when I double click the icon I get

Illegal operation, invalid page fault virtualdj_djc_.exe at 0187:00423aca

Any ideas?

John

Hi

The system is 4 months old. Windows 98 was fresh loaded onto a newly formatted disc last week. Both CD Creator 5 and Tractor DJ/Studio run OK. It is a Celeron 2.2 desktop with 512Mb memory and 2 big discs.

I loaded the Hercules code update, it updated the database and came up with this fault.

VIRTUALDJ_DJC caused an invalid page fault in
module VIRTUALDJ_DJC.EXE at 0167:00431f8a.

The standard trial version also fails in a similar way.

try:

1 - Uninstall
2 - Delete the virtualdj folder
3 - Run regedit and delete the key H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\VIRTUALDJ
4 - Reboot
5 - Close all programs in background (antivirus)
6 - Reinstall

Thanks Fruit for the suggestion.

Unfortunately it had no effect. Failed as normaal.

Is VirtualDJ ok with DirectX 9.1/Win98?

I think vdj has problems with Win98, especially with cd audios reading, and maybe more....

Definately sounds more like a windows error than a VDJ error.
I know you probably already have, but double check all current drivers for all parts of your computer...
all available windows updates too...

"all available windows updates too... "

The only problem wuth this is Microsoft does not support that Windows Platform any longer, They only support Windows 2000 Pro/Server And Windows XP Home/Pro and of course 2003 .NET Sever. Meaning that allthough you might find something on TechNet, it will most likely be a few years old. As they do not provide new Tech service or patch updates any longer. Best advice if updating your drivers does not work is update your Operating System.

I'm so frustrated! I've downloaded the trail version, but it wont load, windows comes with an error saying: DINPUT8.DLL has not been found. I've tried re-installing etc
I'm jealous because my mate has VDJ and it looks great.
Can anyone help??

My specs: Dell inspiron laptop, Pentium 3 (700 mhz), 128 mb ram, 10 gig hd.
