Topic: Last updates for 2026 this past month have wrecked my usb mic input :D
Anyone else all of a sudden having their usb mics coming in at like level 10000% with utter, horrific distortion input gain? Sounds like this guy ordering a McDouble of everything... I changed nothing. Was working just fine, then after I think 2 updates ago, BAM....

It sounds just fine in Windows on it's own.

It sounds just fine in OBS.

It also fails in an earlier Virtual DJ 32 bit version I installed for compatibility.

Here's what it sounds like: WARNING! TURN DOWN YOUR SPEAKERS! IT SOUNDS LIKE DIRK IVANS AND MERZBOW HAD A BABY.

Well, found the FIX but not the why.
You have to NOT choose the Upnp Mic Input like one normally does and now you have to go through the ASUS Utility (WASAPI) ?!?!?
I just set Windows to take input from the Mic in question so who knows... ASUS may have it wrapped up in some absurd strong-hold but at least it works.

Did you set up the mic in the Windows OS? That does make a difference. I know it feels like it should be plug and play but, for good quality sound, it isn't.

It was setup the only way it can - plug-n-play. There are no drivers. But today I installed ASIO4YOU and that solved my 1/2 second delay issue I was having speaking and hearing it late in VDJ. All is good now but compared to the other machine under windows 10, I had zero of these issues.

I know of someone having this issue. Turned out the audio enhancements for each microphone was causing this issue. Turning this off in your recording devices for your Windows micrphones in the Sound Control Panel fixed this issue.
