Topic: Seems Spotify are back in the DJ game! - Page: 4
As much as I try to DETER my clients from giving us Spotify playlists or even mentioning the word Spotify, it would be a valuable add if I could download songs to VDJ from Spotify. I would not want VDJ to lose coin over it. I would pay a subscription for it. -Chris

You may use some alternative services like Soundiiz that ensure playlist synchronization between various providers. I'm using it to sync Spotify to Deezer (which is compatible with VDJ, as you know). You may also sync to Tidal if you're a Tidal user, and so on.

I've been discussing with Soundiiz's team to have some sync using VDJ charts, too. It works more or less!

I may moik into that, but the real issue is when the client wants a version that is only on Spotify. We do mostly weddings.

I see your point. Yet, you probably know that it's not a good idea to rely too heavily on streaming for DJing. If a must-have title is available in Spotify, I would be surprised if you can't buy and download it on some platform.
And it will guaranty you that you'll be able to play it in any circumstances (wifi down, of whatsoever).

I appreciate you chiming in. The VDJ integration would not be of much value to us without the ability to download/cache the song.

We don't allow Spotify versions, but have had clients that were not happy about it. It is what it is, but integration could be another great tool.

I really hope that Virtual DJ adds Apple and Spotify. But if they really wanted to up their game and potentially get more users they need to add the ability to use Apple and Spotify with stems. This would set them aside from the rest of the major platforms. Right now most new DJs are going to serato due to the fact that it has those two options and they offer the lifetime option. Right now serato is the industry standard for DJs but I believe that virtual DJ can easily flip that script by implementing that suggests changes. Plus with what they just released with the new ai and lyrics. I hope that the creators of virtual DJ see this.

It's up to the company if stems and cache are allowed, not Atomix.

Been using vdj since version 7
Adding Spotify and apple music integration will be big upgrade .

If not the team should release an official statement as to why not .

We are all professionals here

They did (Stephane the CEO) and we are waiting for approval from Spotify.

I like Spotify also, but I use Tidal (offline locker and stems work), and I use Tune My Music to transfer Spotify to Tidal. I have found through testing and in experience that 95%+ of the music on Spotify that I needed for gigs was found on Tidal. So for DJing I just use Tidal instead. BTW, Tidal also has videos.

I use Tidal and it's about 95% of Spotify. I also do a lot of weddings, and I have not had issues with Tidal having the tracks. I have even done Latin, Indian, Arabic, Chinese, and Koren weddings and parties using Tidal. Tidal also supports offline locker and stems.

Good to know!
Tune My Music works with VDJ?

Chris

TuneMyMusic works with streaming platforms. Once you convert to a destination platform VirtualDJ supports as a playlist, VirtualDJ will show the playlist on the platform in the software under the Online section.

Ok! Interesting! We signed up for an account with them. I don't see a subscription price. Free? What's the angle there?

Just click on PLANS. $2 per month if you pay anually.

Mentioning Soundiiz as an alternative. Using it for years and very happy with it.
