So lately and for the first time in many years i have a serious issue with VDJ.
Randomly i get distorted/crackling sound It usually happens on the 3rd song i load but sometimes it takes way longer as well. It ALWAYS happens on DECK 1 (Left side as u see it). I tried and had the same issue replicating on 3 different Macbooks Pro (2018 i5,16gb ram, 2020 i5 16gb ram and 2020 i7 32gb ram). I tried older versions of the software that i know for a fact that they were working perfectly and i get the same issue. i tried older/latest versions of mac os, same thing. I tried 3 different controllers (Pioneer XDJ-RR, DDJ-800 and DDJ-FLX4) and i get the same thing at random times but usually very early in my sets and always on Deck 1. I tried resetting VDJ, Uninstalling and re installing, resetting the macbook and installing everything fresh, removing database etc. Nothing helped.
Some people told me changing the buffer size on the asio driver will help. but there is no asio driver on macbooks and no setting to change that as far as i know.
Any ideas???? Please help me i am desperate.
Thank you all

Hi, i´m not mac user, I'm going to tell you what I would do in your case. First of all, I would start with a clean version of virtual, and I would make sure that it has no loaded variables, also I would use the native skin and the default mapping. Starting from that base, I would try to reduce the resources that virtual might need to a minimum, starting by modifying the latency parameters and ultralow latency sample rate, I would remove exclusive audio access, and I would focus on the performance tab modifying all the options to minimize resource consumption. The wave shape forces the use of stems so I wouldn't use that option either. In Windows, I would disable power saving for the laptop and for the USBs, I don't know how that could be done on a Mac. You have a lot to test, but I hope it can be useful for you not to give up. Regards!
edit: Many people don't know that FLAC is a lossless but encoded format, so it also consumes resources; I would try to use only songs in WAV.
good luck!!!

Just my 2 cents on FLAC: I've had problems using FLAC files under VirtualDJ, so just use raw wav fiiles now, and had no problems with playback.

Mac doesn't use asio.... what I see in common here is pioneer controllers Have you tried a non pioneer controller. Also did you use the same usb cable with those controllers ? If so try a new cable
