I was a beta tester for this and It's finally available publically. The new DJ mode can auto generate individual light shows per track and it connects with VDJ perfectly. I get good results quickly and I don't have to fiddle with lighting edits as much. Cheers!

How does it work with moving heads? I can't really imagine how this is supposed to work without a relationship to the (at least) 2d installation of my fixtures?
If I e.g. ChatGPT explainwhat I have installed, the light shows suggest that makes sense to me. But just some bling bling? No

I see the same problem as with any other of this kind of software (including soundswitch) :
No demonstration with a bigger rig, consisting most importantly from a bunch of moving heads.
Controlling color, intensity and strobe is somewhat easy to automate/script per track.
But when you throw movement into the mix, everything starts falling appart real quick.

Yeah I tried SoundSwitch with my Chauvet 140SR Hybrid moving heads and it was a mess.
Automation is great fir basic fixtures however.

Here is a vid on how this soft handles movers:

I hear you about most DMX progs handling movers in a less than ideal or predictable manner. My needs are a bit different as I only run 2 moving fixtures that are multi-beam as opposed to a single head.
In DMX Desktop you can basically set your margins for PAN/TILT/ROTATE/SPEED, then the software has numerous built in movements that can be combined. You can also make your own custom movement edits as well.
I'm only sharing all this because the guy behind it was gracious in helping me get up and running (I ain't getting paid!). I believe in good word of mouth and I also believe competition in the market is a good thing!
I plan to shoot some DMXD + VDJ videos before my gigs this summer and share them.

Subscription based models are a cancer. What happened to outright buying the piece of software. Same bs with soundswitch, users who support subscription based models are the ones driving the industry to go down that route.

I've noticed that the free version gives you:
1 Universe, up to 64 Channels ( reduced from 128 less than a year ago when mentioned in another Vdj post)
Profile Library Access
Basic Customer Support
1 Machine
They now offer a Lifetime license for the version you buy (currently £179).
As I haven't used dmx before, just trying to weigh up the free platforms for now ( although the established sound switch does look tempting). But they all appear to work with VDJ.

1 DMX universe is 512 channels.
So 64 channels are actually 1/8th of a universe..
Plus it won't fit 4 "typical" moving heads (usually ranging between 17 and 18 channels each)
So I'm not sure how exactly you are going to "demonstrate" their implementation.
But anyway..
