So I have a new Dell Alienware. It's one of the most powerful. I uninstalled all bloatware etc. Everything is updated, drivers, software.
In VDJ, using the realtek sound card only, the VDJ waveform skips/lags, then the sound pops/skips. This will happen 2, to 10 times per song.
So I used an external sound card, generic old one that i had for back up. With that plugged into the USB, VDJ runs and sounds amazing using the realtek, internal sound card. BUT i have to plug in an external sound card for EVERYTHING to work. Unplug it, and use the realtek internal sound and VDJ is back to having issues.
However, the Dell computer uses intelligo to "enhanse" the sound. I'm not sure if that's the issue, and I can not remove intelligo, as I tried, and ther sound out of VDJ was much worse!
I ran serato, sound switch, even windows audio and they are all perfect. VDJ is the only program that is having a hard time with this.
Any ideas as to what might be causing the issues in audio.....?
My computer resources are about 1% for CPU and about 6% for ram. I have 128GB ram, i9, NVIDIA 4090 with 16gb ram and 36 cores. THis thing is a powerhouse, except for the internal sound card.

Try to find generic drivers for the card without all the Dell crap added. Also make sure all sound enhancements like Dolby etc. are disabled.
Also try the VDJ setting exclusiveAudioAccess as that will stop other things on the PC using the card at the same time as VDJ.

Try setting exclusiveAudioAccess to Yes (from VDJ Settings->OPTIONS)
When you plug a new Audio device, Windows tend to set that as default Playback Device, so thats why your Realteck works when you plug the USB card, gets freed from whatever the OS is applying or using.
With the setting above, it's actually telling the OS, i control this device
