I am setting up my cameras with VDJ and I closed it and started it again. I opened and it started to scan every track as if they were all brand new...

Same issue here ( minus the camera setup tho LOL)
It scans every drive at startup, once I click on the drive to expand it

autoSearchDB has nothing to do with scanning though.
It simply means that when vdj sees a new file, it will be available through the search function automatically.

The behavior you describe is typical if you start VirtualDJ while the previous instance has not closed peacefully.
In this case, it's possible for the old instance to have held the database.xml to a "read only state" and therefore the new instance cannot access it and rescans all tracks it sees.
