I'm experiencing intermittent problems when recording my practice sessions in VDJ.
I used to record them in FLAC and I don't recall any issues. But the past few weeks I've been recording as MP3, and I've noticed some unwanted behavior.
1) Sometimes when I press "Record" it says "waiting for sound to start recording". Other times it just starts recording right away. I'm not aware of anything that may be causing this - even when no sound is playing it will begin recording right away.
2) Three times in the past couple of weeks, I've begun recording, played a longish (2 hours) practice set, then go to the record panel and stop the recording, and the "recorded" file is only 737 bytes. When I try to open it in an audio editor it says, "an error occured with this file. the end of the file was unexpectedly reached. this file appears to be corrupt and cannot be read.
I'm on a new MacBook Pro 16" M3.
Any ideas on what could be going wrong or how to solve this?
