Topic: Please fix Skipping when using DDJ Rev 5
Hello,

I use the DDJ REV 5 and have an ongoing issue where songs skip at least once a set. It's not a battery or ram issue because my Macbook Pro is always plugged in during my sets, and I recently upgraded from a Macbook Air with 8GB ram, to a Macbook Pro with 18GB ram, yet it is still skipping. The whole reason I bought a new laptop is because I thought the low ram was causing it to skip but I was wrong. It never skips when I use my REV 1, but the REV 5 is my favorite controller. Please fix this issue ASAP.

Thank you,

I have the same issue. Songs skip, lag, or make general noises only when using my rev5.

I can use my DDJ-SR, a DJ2GO2 or a borrowed Inpulse T7, and it all works with no skips or noises.
Only when I plug in the Rev5 do I get noises.

My system is good too;
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.30 GHz
64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable)
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows 11 Pro

All up-to-date, firmware & software.
All scans come back clean I only have an issue when using the rev5

I also noticed that if I try to load any application while Rev 5 is playing, I get noises out of the mains.

So you have basically proven that the rev5 (or it's drivers) and not VDJ is the problem :)

For the skipping you may just need to set a bigger buffer size in the driver

So I have tried all buffer sizes, now it's maxed out at 1920.
If the problem still happens, what else could it be?
Thanks!

I ran a full system stress test & scan. The computer is perfect & there are no issues.

All drivers are up to date, including the REV 5.

Have you performed a DPC latency test?

For this Audio Glitch, the DPC latency is irrelevant. I can switch between 4 different controllers. The only one with any audio glitch is the Rev 5.

The only thing on the system that changes is the controller.
DDJ-SR works perfectly with no glitch, used at 200+ events.
DJ2Go2 works perfectly with no glitch, used at 50+ events.
Inpulse 500 works perfectly with no glitch, used at 40+
Virtual DJ on remote works perfectly with no glitch, used at several events, practice, event set up, etc, hundreds of hours.

Rev 5 - Glitches, screeches, hicups, etc.

Why would it only do it on the Rev 5?

Because of the Rev 5 drivers, would be my guess

Logically, next in line would be to try the REV5 with Serato and Rekordbox to see if you get the same problem.
