Topic: Mapping an oldschool Midi-controller - behaviour not consistent?
SepatroPRO InfinityMember since 2019
Hello,

I am mapping my rotary controllers of my BCR2000 to change the keys of the 4 different decks. I use 4 rotary encoders next to each other, one for each deck. Deck 1 and 2 work just fine, however deck 3 and 4 have a strange behaviour. Could this be because, for one reason or another, VDJ interprets CC controllers 97 and 98 (correctly) as sliders, but 99 and 100 as "encoders"? See image.

I now notice that I can choose between SLIDER or ENCODER.
The exact syntax however it not clear to me ...

for encoder type use
key
for slider type use
key_smooth
encoder will give whole number note changes,
slider will give +/- 6.0 key differences including in between key values like +4.2
