Topic: Browser : Sort based on 2 criteria (2 columns)
Hello !
I would like to ask if we can sort the songs in the browser not based on 1 column but on 2 or more columns.
I see that I can do that on DJUCED or SERATO by sorting on the column KEY (for example) and *Command* + BPM
I tried it on VDJ, but not working.
Maybe an other combination of keyboard keys ?
Thanks for your help

first field header click, makes that field primary sort, second field header click makes that field the primary sort and demotes the previous primary to secondary sort.

Why I didn't see it :D
Thank you so much for your quick answer and help

I'm having trouble with mine. I click one column (title) and it sorts then when I click the second column (BPM), the first column is no longer sorted. I updated to the latest version and I'm not sure what I'm not doing right. Any advice?

It will sort by BPM as the primary sort then, only if the BPM values match, it will sort by title within that BPM value.

Try clicking on title first then artist to see it sorted by artist as the primary then title within artist.

I suspect that the BPM values are slightly different which makes it look like it’s not working. I just tested here and that’s what happened. The songs that were exactly 100 BPM indeed sorted by title, with the 99.99 above (even though the browser shows 100) and 100.004 below. So, it looked like it was wrong in the browser but actually wasn’t.

You are absolutely correct. Thank you so much for breaking that down. I got it to work and have understanding. I really appreciate it!!

It would be nice with a visual indication that multi-column sort is active.

It's pretty much always active, unless you're in an ordered folder type and pressed reset sort order.

Ok, makes sense.

But I mean a visual indication to let you know which columns are contributing to the sorting.

In Ser*to, for instance, they highlight the two column headers in 2 shades of grey.

hello, I've been trying to sort the columns under KEY for quite a long time and I can only do that when I start virtual dj again, it's meaninglessly scattered again
