Topic: OS2L not working correctly in build 7651
After ages setting and resetting, pinging, swapping networks, cables etc I managed to get TheLighting Controller talking to VDJ once more. I have had many months of this feature working flawlessly...

It only seems to pick up the beat on deck 2. When crossfader is on deck one it stops. When I pause the track on deck 1, it picks up the best on deck 2 even though the crossfader is still left...

Stumped... any takers?

You are correct... It now works perfectly in 7607. It takes the dominant deck on the crossfader. However, if only one one deck is playing it will use that regardless of crossfader position or master deck setting.

I shall reinstall 7651 just to eliminate the possibility that it was a corrupt install/settings/windows11 "feature" and let you know!

Thanks :D

I dont think anything is changed regarding the auto-selection of Master Deck, so it should work with current Build too.
In fact i just tried and works as expected.

Most likely you manually selected a Deck as Master and from that point the auto-selection was broken. Some controllers have the action masterdeck mapped as SHIFT+SYNC, most of the skins have that too, not sure if that is your case though.
Next time this happens, have a custom button mapped as masterdeck 'auto' to bring back the auto-selection.

As for the case when you stop the audible Deck and "incorrectly" get the Beat from the non-audible Deck, yes, i believe it makes sense to "freeze" both audio and Lights, and perhaps we need to offer some solution here, if thats what you ask.

Its working for me with SoundSwitch on a M1 Macbook Pro.

Thank you for your responses; it is now working as expected...

I thought I'd eliminated everything except VDJ, but it was fixed with both PCs OS (win11) updated and one with new network drivers also. I also suspect MASTERDECK manual settings played a part.

The only thing I wish could be implemented is a FREEZE button so you could have static lights and not have to pause the music, but this functionality is already present within TheLightingController software, I think.

Awesome!! Gald you got it sorted out.

For a momentary freeze (for a few seconds) just hold the platter. If you want longer "freeze", perhaps you should just stop all decks.
Another option of course is to create a "static" scene in your DMX software and select that if you want long pauses in your light show

Also, theLightingController developers could add a query to check if the Master Deck is audible before requesting the master Beat nums.
so instead of..
deck master get_beat_num , they could request ..
deck master is_audible ? deck master get_beat_num
