I notice that, using v2023m-b7555, Scanning a couple new mp4 video files that are in the ~120BPM range results in the scanner giving a half value for the BPM (~60BPM). Did something change in the analysis recently?

No, there haven't been any bpm analyzer changes in a while

it can happen on some file + or - the BPM has changed.
you have to go to the BPM editor by right clicking on the concerned title and you click on +2.

Thank you both for you responses.
It's strange...they were all modern dance music with constant BPMs...VirtualDJ normally doesn't miscalculate that BPM range.

Did they already have a bpm in the tag perhaps?

I think they did have BPMs already added in their tags. Shouldn't VirtualDJ just ignore those values and calculate its own though (and write it back if it's different, given setTagsAuto = true)?

It is not used for the actual calculation, but it is used to prefer a certain bpm range.

That makes sense...so the assumption is the tags are telling the truth then?
