Topic: Lack of volume with Denon Dj Prime 4 - Page: 1
Hello, I am a mobile Dj and currently when stems were introduced I noticed a high lack of sound coming through my speaker. I have to raise the master volume and increase the speaker volume to get a fuller sound. I am currently running g the latest version on VDJ Pro and have the latest firmware for Prime 4.

Please advise how I can resolve the issue

Thanks

Load the default Pro skin and click on master to see if your master volume in VDJ is turned right up.

What do you mean by that?

If you have stems enabled on your EQ knobs, then obviously reducing any of them will remove part of the audio and lower the level.

I have checked the Master volume and it is turned up to the max.

I turned off my stems weeks ago and still experiencing the volume issue

Have a look through settings (the ones you have modified) to see if anything could be causing the issue.

I didn’t make any changes in the settings, I looked through a few times and nothing stood out.

have you changed Master Limiter: This setting determines the maximum output level of the master mix. Select Off to disable the limiter, or set the maximum output level from 18 to 0 dB

that is on the prime 4 itself not a VDJ setting

Thanks Wickedmix, the master limiter is off in Prime 4.

It’s so weird I’ve used VDJ since 2013 and have never experienced this issue. Since I bought a Prime 4 and updated to the newer version of VDJ the sound doesn’t fill the room. I have to increase the volume much much higher.

Try going back to an older build and see if there's an improvement.

I had the same issue with the prime controller I fixed my issue by going into Audio setting and removing the record input not sure why this works but it does.

Dj dad, zero db is at default. Should I change this?

0db is maximum loud with no distortion ... if you need more probably best to leave as is

what outputs on the device are you using ?
balanced or unbalanced?

balanced (XLR) usually outputs louder

Sure I read a post on Denon forum saying that the XLR output is inferior to the RCA. I know it seems weird but try that instead. Seems to be an inherent defect.

I remember testing the MCX8000 and it was not an issue.
