I currently have a limited edition American Audio license and don't seem to have the Automix panel. Is that the reason? I am not doing any gigs so hate to spend for the license until after the pandemic.

Strange your current account say "Home User"
which have Automix
Maybe it is hidden:
Automix as well as other tabs in sideview can be individualy hidden using option (little circle bottom left of the tabs)
click option cog and under "Tabs visibility " you can select/deselect some tabs

The Limited Edition have some browser limitations.
Playlists and Automix being one, this features are not supported in older LE
