Topic: Ask.The.DJ - explaining it to your audience...

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi

"ask.the.dj" or "http://ask.the.dj" both work, but "www.ask.the.dj" doesn't.

This seems to confuse people in my live streams. I assume this is because "www" is the standard default URL scheme so they're either adding the www themselves, OR because they don't recognise it as a URL (without the www), they often try to type it back into the chat... even if I've told them the URL in that same chat.

I have the url visible on the stream, as well as typing it into the chat... in addition to explaining it verbally.

So, I'm just wondering if there's a clearer way to communicate that it's a URL, and what to do with it... Any thoughts?

Could put a QR code on your screen, if they are not so good at reading the url on your screen.

Now open your camera on your phone and point to the QR code above ;-) its a working one that points to a DJ with Ask The DJ

Alternatively you can generate a short URL (many services that offer). Like bit.do/djvinylburns (try click it :) )
But not sure thats any better, if they cant type in url on screen, like in your example, i guess same ones will write www.bit.do.com/djvinylburns

Nice idea.

Though, if these dunces can’t work out a URL, a QR code will blow their minds.

lol
