Topic: Headphones mixing knob.

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello!
If I turn this knob on "master" I don't hear the master output in my headphones also if the cue button of master level is pressed. What can I do?
Thanks a lot.

Well of course you won't hear the master signal on the DDJ-400 if you're sending it somewhere else.

I think he's trying to hear what is output on the master in his headphones as well.

On my DDJ-RX, I enable the master CUE/PFL button and turn the headphone mix knob to master. You have to have the master outputting as well as bring the headphone volume up.
Do you have speakers hooked up to the master out to verify you are actually putting out sound?
Do the other channel CUE's output into the headphones when you are headphone mixed to CUE?

The Headphones Level and Mixing are hardware operations on the DDJ-400, meaning that you need to use the default Audio setup (with both Master & Headphones assigned to DDJ-400 sound card).
If Master is routed to a different sound card, the hardware CUE/MASTER mixing will not work as expected.

A workaround is to create a custom mapping for your home practice and edit the action of the ONINIT key from:
fake_master on & fake_hp on & fake_hpmix on

to...
fake_master off & fake_hp off & fake_hpmix off
(same as the ONEXIT key)
In this case the MASTER CUE/PFL button will not make any difference (its not mapped anyways)

I hear the master output from the Mac (just for practice)

Yes, and when I used DDJ-SB2 the same set up worked.

:-( Better with the DDJ-SB2...

Running VDJ8 on a Pioneer DDJ-SX3 controller. I'm not getting any MASTER audio feed on my headphones (CUE only). Anyone know how to fix this?
