Topic: Can't record in VDJ8?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am having a problem recording. When I click the button "..." to set a file name and place to record, nothing happens. Nothing pops up. The program just sits there. And it says "could not open file to write" down below. Any ideas? Thanks!

Where do you try to record ?
What OS ?

Windows 8/8.1 & 10 will prevent you to record on certain locations like the root of your system drive (typically on C:\ )
Try to use your "Documents" folder for recording
