Topic: BUILD 3870 crash report info?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all, the past two weeks I've had VDJ freeze while playing out, although I've still been able to load and play tracks for up to 20mins at most using the NS7III screens, and After about 15-20 mins I can no longer load tracks as I assume VDJ runs out of memory in the background and a restart is needed. I've done my best to see if it's something I'm doing while playing (I sometimes very quickly play/mix about 8 - 10 songs in 5 mins including playing samples etc ) or VDJ doesn't like the way the NS7III is set up. I don't scratch so I have the numark control preferred buffer size set to 2016 and the turntables set to on. I was using FRUiT's skin the 1st time, and the default skin on the 2nd....not sure what I used on the 3rd freeze. The laptop itself operated normally and I only had to restart vdj via the task manager. If any of the admin have seen a crash report can you let me know what causes it so I can sort it out. Thank you

Dell Inspiron
Screen Resolution 1920 x 800
Windows 10
16GB Ram
Wifi is sometimes on

I think the only time there will be a crash report is if the software closes and reopens on its own.
when you have to end it manually there will be no report.

might want to check for updated drivers if u suspect a memory leak situation.

something to do while waiting for devs anyways.

also you may want to mention if you are playing audio only video only or a combination and what FX are in use.

No crash is uploaded to our servers, so i guess it should be a Windows crash/freeze (not responding message)
So when this happens, is it when you try to load a track ? If so, how long have you been waiting till forcing VDJ to quit ? Was the sound still playing while the GUI was frozen ?
Can you reproduce this at home ?

Have you optimized your computer for best performance ? http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/PC%20Optimize.html

it's not when loading a track and yes the music still plays and I can still load tracks via the ns7iii screens, I can even load up firefox on the laptop and browse the web during the freeze. When I try to click on vdj it goes completely white but won't close. I only force quit vdj when I can no longer load/browse a track using the ns7iii screen, this is around 15 - 20 mins after the freeze ( about 6 songs). I've already optimised my laptop a long time ago and it's still the same. Windows is still functioning while this happens so I didn't need to restart the laptop itself. I've not as yet been able to replicate it home...I'll keep trying

I'm experiencing the same lock up after 15-20 mins of play. I can disconnect from the controller and the program is fine. Its only when i'm connected to the controller is when i experience the lock up. I've had this happen in the middle of a gig. Can you tell me why this is happening?
