Hi,
I am almost at the end of my teather with this bleeding VDJ remote!
I have spent days trying to sort some VPN out, all I managed to do was destroy the wifi settings on my laptop. The I spend more days to sort that problem out.
So I have been using the remote by creating a hotspot on my iphone and using it through that. But this uses my data allowance and not always viable as many of my wedding venues have no or poor signal.
So, Is there any (noob, I know nothing) instructions on setting this up, without wifi access or mobile phone signal
Can I get a router of some sort, even though there wont actually be any internet connection to bridge my ipad/phone to my laptop?
The instructions I have found on here, dont apply to windows 10 and might as well be written in arabic as they make no sense at all..
thanks in advance
Gary

Make sure you have Apple Bonjour installed.
Use a 3rd party hotspot client like Connectify to create a hotspot from your laptop.
Not sure why so many have issues as it's always worked for me (apart from disconnecting which seems to be an issue with the client rather than the wifi)
Have a read of this:

I could seriously cry!
I have just downloaded and purchased Conectify, switched off the wifi (from my laptop) so there is no network between my phone and laptop. It WORKED!!! It has created a new virtual wifi network, so no need to buy a router and worry about phone signal.
I can not believe one simple bit of software could have saved me days of stress,
thanks you have saved my sanity.

No problem.
Windows is an absolute nightmare for hotspots. They removed the inbuilt functionality for it in Windows 8 but some manufacturers (specifically those with Intel wifi cards) put in a program to create hotspots but not all.
Connectify keep pushing you to upgrade blah blah (typical American ransomware company) but you can just ignore it and use what works.
Glad I could be of help
