Hi all,
VDJ8/Mac here. I'm having some problems with the Numark Mixtrack Platinum. Everything works except for the knobs that control volumes to the master and headphones.
I have verified that the knobs are mapped correctly, to master_volume and headphone_volume respectively. In fact, I can see the software versions of the knobs rotate correctly on the Master tab in the default skin. But the volume settings have no effect. The volume is constant regardless of where the knobs are set, to both the master-out and the headphone-out. Obviously having no volume control makes it unusable. I can't even put on my headphones, they're so loud they're painful.
The third knob, cue/program-mix works as expected.
Everything works as expected in Serato DJ.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Is this happening with just the Platinum connected ?
There is a chance that the fake_ actions have been enabled for Master and Headphones from another controller that offers hardware mixing and the fake_ mixer is enabled on init.

This was exactly it. I don't know what kind of wizard you are to have so perfectly nailed that possibility, but thank you!!!

Hmm. Will I need to re-insert the fake_ actions oninit when I use the other controller?

The fake_ actions are turned off by default when VirtualDJ starts. If your connected hardware doesnt have actions in the ONINIT key to turn them off (e.g. with just the Platinum connected) then you should be OK.
If for any reason, you need to have them off when both controllers are connected, then you can remove the fake_ on actions from the ONINIT key of the controller.
But keep in mind that if the sound card of the controller with the fake_ on actions is used in the Audio Setup, you may not have the expected results.
For the NS7II that you probably use, this wont have much impact though
Another option is to create a Custom mapping (or an additional one) without the fake_ actions in the ONINIT and load the one you want each time you need to turn them off/on. Or better, instead of removing them, replace the on with off in the fake_ actions of the ONINIT, e.g. fake_hp off instead of fake_hp on, so that they will apply (turn them off) when the Custom mapping is loaded.
