Not sure you can, it may depend on what version you are using. Try getting onto the "my home page" tab, if you see it, from there it's self explanatory after that.
 
That's what facebook is for, its of no importance on here, its not like you have a home page and news feed. What would be the point.
 
I generally don't make friends and the contacts I make are generally at the club. there might even be a General or two. never know in this area.
 
I use friends list for a quick way to pm, also for podcast that I like.
