Topic: Alphanumeric key isn't the same as the key on the track

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have been using the Camelot wheel and putting in the alphanumeric key into the VDJ search. Most of the time, they aren't the same. For example: I load a track that says it's in the key of Dm. I then look up the alphanumeric key on the Camelot wheel for Dm (which is 7A). I then search for 7A in the VDJ search and the track doesn't show up.

I also have lots of songs that aren't in a key that is on the Camelot wheel. I am having problems finding them with the VDJ search. Here are some that aren't on the Camelot wheel that I would like to find with the alphanumeric key: C#m, D#m, ect.

Any help clearing this up for me would be awesome.

In the search options do you have the harmonic field checked?

I think have the same problem..infact is there any option where I can change the way to display they value...eg...Dm to 7A .....the alphanumeric is easy to understand and to work with

Please help if you have an idea

No need options, do it by the browser. For "Dm" notation show the "Key" field, and for "7A" notation, select "harmonic" field. In searches, only the "key" is available, but you can use filter folders to separate your tracks by "harmonic".

Click on the DM (itself) on the skin, it should change to 7A etc...
