I am looking to add some pads to my dj setup.
I was thinking of getting the Pioneer ddj sp1 as I already have a Pioneer setup, so it would match visually and seems to do what I want it to do.
But are there any better options out there.
I use Virtual DJ as my main dj software, and have a Pioneer djm900 srt mixer and cdj 2000 nexus players.
Thanks.

I have the SP1 and it works great alongside the MC6000 mk1.
It's now pretty cheap and also comes with a Serato Video licence which you can sell on as well if you want.

I used to use a set of Akai LPD8's but since I've gotten my SP1 I can't imagine using anything else!!
The unit is a beast and can with stand the test of time. I've had mine for around 2 years now I think and never a glitch with any software I've used with it.
You could also look into the MINI APC. Tons of buttons and faders. I have one but have never really used it with VDJ so I can't comment on how well it works. It is a hard plastic though so a drop could just break it.

I'm video mad at the moment. My mixing is a little off..instead I'm liable to drop a nuclear weapon (video!) in between songs. Anyway the Akai APC mini is great for firing video samples. It's also very good for remixing songs on the fly using audio sample groups such as Project 8, besides just general sampling.

Thanks for the replies.
I have just picked up the Pioneer sp1. It matches the kit I have already, and I am sure it will do exactly what I want.
Thanks again.

I got my one for £149 from DJKit then sold the Serato Video voucher for £50.
Bargain price.

I got mine from djkit, I think its called online, but basically it's Guildford Sound and Light. £149
Been having a play with it tonight, and it's great.
Thanks to whoever did the mapping for it. Detected straight away by VDJ and works perfectly.
