Topic: Decompressing this file...

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I'm getting the message when I load a video in 8.2 "Decompressing this file in memory would require 40mb of contiguous memory..." How or where can I adjust that so I don't get that message anymore. I knew how to do it with the reg tool in 7 but I wouldn't know where to start in 8.2? I have a video gig tomorrow... Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I set this to -1 and was still able to reproduce the issue. Am I mis-understanding? What would you recommend the setting be?

Maybe if you told us exactly what type of file you're trying to load?

You know - file type, codec, size, playing time, resolution.

Sure all Karaoke related (.mp3 with the .cdg named the same in the same directory). Happens after about the 3rd or 4th selection)
So playing times will vary for each selection; but the crash is consistent.
