I havn't had chance to try it but my tablet connects to the laptop and i can control it over wifi, i want to know if im in a remote location with out WIFI can i just patch trough a router and use the device?

You can create an ad-hoc wifi network from your PC and connect through that ......

Some laptops have that functionality built in. If not you can use something like Connectify.

"Patch through a router" (I guess you mean a switch) means cable connections.
However all Android devices can act as a Wi-Fi hotspot. So, you switch your tablet to Wi-Fi hotspot mode and you connect your laptop to it. If the tablet has a 4G connection then you may want to set the Wi-Fi connection on your laptop as "metered". This way Windows will not try to download updates and other stuff through this connection.
