I just bought a newer laptop. I updated it to windows 10. I am using Virtual dj 8. I can not get 2 separate lines to my external mixer. Seams to be an issue with windows. In speaker config it only gives the opt to chose front and side fill speakers. It will not give me rear speakers. I am using an SB X-Fi 5.1 surround usb card. Any ideas ?

i would guess side is the same as rear on your card
5 channels = 2 front, 2 side, one center?

The sound card is a 5.1.... Not 7.1... The sound card wants the rear. Windows says its 5.1 but shows 7.1 speakers and the rears are not hi lighted ... If i can not get it to work with this older usb sound card could i at least get some recommendations on a new usb sound card ?

ok I have a fix. I went to Sound Blaster and downloaded the most current drivers and software for the card. Even though it said windows 8 it seams to be working and it gives me the opt I needed to get it to work.
