Topic: How to retrieve cue points from 7 for 8

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I don't know if this was already asked so I thought I would ask it anyway.

I have had VDJ 6 then 7 for about 10 years or so and have put in a lot of work fixing my titles, adding notes, creating sets and add cue points to about 60% of my music.

I can open and see the code in VDJ 7 xml file but before I start trying to work this out I thought I would ask here first.
I really hope someone has already thought about how to do this before I start trying by myself.

My question is this:
How can I retrieve the cue point set in VDJ 7 over to VDJ 8?

Thanks and hope to hear (ok, read) about your ideas soon.

VDJ8 will automatically import them from 7 when you install it, or it will ask if you want to import them (or something like that)

Thanks for your reply LSL50.
I may have missed that when I installed VDJ 8.

If I need too, I will uninstall and re-install.

Something to do Monday night when I'm back home...

all u really meed to do is delete the file "database.xml" and start vdj8 and the 7 database will get re-imported

I didn't realise you'd already installed VDJ8 otherwise I would have have suggested the same as @wickedmix which is much quicker

I couldn't wait...

I uninstall and re-install but when the option came up, I selected "Complete" and not "Typical".

I got all my cue points... lol

Thanks for your help LSL50 ... :)

wickedmix, I didn't see your post until I had already re-install.
O Well, all is good NOW... LOL

Thanks guys.

The cue points I made for songs in VDJ 7 are still visibly there in VDJ 8, but they no longer function. How do I get the songs to start at the cue points without manually redoing the cue points with the new (more cumbersome) process?

Please refer to the answer given to your original post here, and in future try and avoid posting the same question again in another thread.

Sorry about that, I forgot to delete my original message after I realized I should have posted in the 8.1 forum. Won't happen again.
