Hi all I'm after abit of advice.
I am a VDJ user on a PC laptop with videos For my everyday DJ gigs & it's time for me to upgrade But I'm starting to get club gig & as we all know it's all about the image. Club DJ seem to use Mac Book & Serato.
my question is if I get a MacBook Pro & boot camp it with Windows so I have 2 operate System. iOS with Serato (just so I can use the same MacBook to keep up with the Jones, so to speak) & Window with Virtual DJ (just because a lot of plugin I use are only for window) will this work ok with the following MacBook ??
2.5Ghz Dual Core Intel® Core™ i5 processor
8Gb RAM
1Tb 5400rpm hard drive
13.3 inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display
Intel® HD Graphics 4000
Up to 7 hours battery life
Firewire 800, 2 x USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt
MD101B/A
My budget is limited. I know I can get more PC for the money. I'm just after some advice if anyone as done this with there MacBook & if the spec is ok for virtual DJ & video..???
Thank you.

That's a pretty low spec machine (made in 2012), and the screen resolution is only 1280x800. That particular model code only has 4gb RAM. Not worth £899.
Personally I don't give a hoot about image. Nobody cares what you use being honest. It's how you do your gig and what comes out that matters. Use the tools for the job YOU are comfortable with.

Yes it will work the way you want. It would also work if the apps were both on the same OS.
However you should really ask yourself if you really need to use this or that software (or OS) "just for the image"
Generally speaking I believe one should use the tools that make the job for him better, or if you like, the tools that make him feel more comfortable to do the job.
Several years ago I didn't care if all the clubs in my country used CDJ-1000MK3. I would show up with my laptop and a HC4500 (the controller I used at the time) and I would rock the place... Just because I was more comfortable with that tools.
If it was for "image" we would still be playing with TT's or CDJ's and no computers or controllers would ever meet the clubs.

I'm not really bothered about the debate on what is right or not.
I have been there & got the T-shirt, I was one of the first DJ in my area to using a desktop computer with (PCDJ & DAC 2 controller then virtual DJ). I didn't get gigs because of this. It took a long time for Digital DJ to become the norm.
I DJ every weekend in a party bar where I use virtual DJ & video, which is fine & I love virtual DJ, I'm a Virtual DJ guy through and through BUT Most all club still DJ use MacBooks & Serato its a fact! virtual DJ doesn't get a look in. It's just easy to follow the crowd one less problem to deal with. It's just for the easiness of the gigs. & to save me having a Windows laptop for weekend party bar gigs & a MacBook for my midweek trend nightclub gigs..

I definitely would not go with an i5 though. Not sure what your budget is but I just bought a 2012 Macbook pro retina model with an i7 quad core for 750 usd!!
I can still get 700/800 outta my 2011 Macbook pro with an i7.

Your MBP, bootcamped, video with plugins... I think it will work, but I should prefer looking for something stronger. Using VDJ on OSX will work very good and stable with your machine, but....

....you lose a lot of plugins. It's just not as good developed on the OSX-site.
