Topic: Virtual DJ 8 Won't Recognize Hercules Rmx Controller

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello, I just recently upgraded my laptop to a macbook pro running OS X El Capitan and now Virtual DJ 8 won't recognize my Hercules Rmx Controller. I keep getting the following error...

No sound card
* Hercules DJ Console RMX
No inputs or outputs configured

I assumed that it was missing the driver so I came here to download the driver info I have saved on my account but when I try to install it I get another error that reads....

This package is incompatible with this version of OS X and may fail to install.

and forces me to cancel the install. Can someone please help!

Hi Dj Dad, first of all thanks a lot for the help however I downloaded the driver from the link and its still not working. The install of the driver went through successful but Virtual DJ keeps giving me the same error on the start up and the controller just flasher the lights the entire time and never gets recognized by the software. Is there anything else I can do? I deleted VDJ and tried re-installing it again but that didn't work either. Please help me out here. Thanks!

If you carefully read the page from Hercules (link above), you will notice that there is a note there.... "Please note that a powered USB hub might also be necessary for your DJ controller to be recognized and used properly on recent computers featuring USB 3.0 ports"

So i would strongly advise to try with a different computer (with USB 2.0 ports) of use a 2.0 USB hub.

I bought a usb powered hub and still nothing. The lights flash now for a while and then just simply turn off and virtual dj of course doesn't recognize the controller. I tested the controller on my friends laptop (an older MacBook Pro model) and the controller works just fine. I really don't know what to do at this point. Any other suggestions? Thanks again for all your help Dj Dad
