Topic: Pioneer DDJ-SR ASIO does not work in Win 10 with VDJ8

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Everything was working fine until I upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10; now when I start VDJ8 I receive an error message that VDJ is unable to start the ASIO driver. I've tried reinstalling the driver and making sure that I have the latest firmware for the DDJ-SR. I'm not sure if this is a VDJ problem or a Pioneer problem, though...hopefully you can enlighten me.

Yes. First point of call is to contact pioneer as they distribute the drivers.

Pioneer was pretty responsive (of course, you would expect that since you pay top $ for their controllers!). They said that the updated ASIO driver that is Win10 compliant is in test right now and scheduled to be released sometime next month (Oct15), per below:

I also found that this tip works for the Pioneer ASIO drivers:

You need to open the Compatibility Troubleshooter in Win10:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/open-the-program-compatibility-troubleshooter

Choose Troubleshooting-Programs-ProgramCompatibilityTroubleshooter. On the window that pops up, click Next. Scroll to the bottom of the list of programs and choose Virtual DJ 8, click Next. On the following screen, choose "Troubleshoot program". On the following screen, choose "This program worked in earlier versions of Windows". On the following screen, choose Windows 7 and click Next. Test the program settings and it should now work!
