Topic: How to NOT hear yourself on the mic but hear your live mix!

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have called several times to find a solution but I'm always told you can't do that. Maybe I'm not explaining myself correctly, but in any case if you are constantly annoyed when you speak on the mic hearing your voice on the headphones in VDJ8 try this, it worked for ME! Simply go to settings, audio, and add a "booth". Bam that did it. Now my mic is only heard by the listeners (listening to the internet broadcast), and I still hear the music, AND the transitions with the fader just fine. I don't know why my question was so complicated and why I'm always told it isn't possible but it worked perfectly fine for me doing what I explained and it's working perfectly. I suppose for DJing Live there would be a different set up entirely but I DJ online, and this works for me. Hope this helps those that have had this issue!

Why would you not want to hear what's being broadcast? Surely the only way to correctly balance the volume of your voice against the music is to hear it.

Ok I am having the same issue and i also Internet DJ. So I added Booth according to the last post. Only issue is, how do I setup the channels in booth? That was not specified. I still hear my voice when my mic is on and yes....it's highly annoying and distracting. A little more detail on what else should be done would be nice.

Set the value boothMicrophone in your options to NO and use the Booth output instead of the master to preview your signal.

You need to configure Left / Right channel to booth instead of master in your audio config and use the booth volume fader instead of the master volume fader.

Thanks Sleahymusic!

I've been wondering how to do this for a while now. I am a Karaoke DJ and there are a few people who are very good and I've been wanting to record them but always had the Microphone, playing back the singer. I've just tried this out on my own (not very good voice) lol and it works!

Regards,
Richard.
