trying to make a mix but only need a certain part of a song how do i crop the rest out??

You can use an application like Audacity to edit the track outside of VDJ. Or you can use the POI editor in VDJ, see some pointers here http://virtualdj.com/forums/190579/General_Discussion/VirtualDJ_8_-_Tutorial_Videos.html
