Topic: Clean install VDJ8 build 2325 hard to start application

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

As can be read in another thread, I'm in the process of configuring a backup laptop for VDJ8.
It's a fresh install of Windows 7.
When install VDJ8 build 2325 (public) it installs fine, but:

I doubleclick on the icon, but it refuse to start.
Occasionally I get "Crashguard error"
One time of ten I can get it to start. Close it.
Won't start.
Tried to install it several times, with exactly the same behaviour.

What is this?

EDIT: I run Windows 7 service pack 1.
If I go in compability options and change it to "run this program in Windows 7" it seems to start every time.

update the graphic drivers .... also pretty sure your graphics have to be capable of directx 9 atleast
 
The graphics chip is a ATI radeon HD5650 capable of directX 11, and it already has the latest drivers.
 
There is a crash report on the server from your machine when using 2325.

The development team will be able to access the information and contact you if they need further information or have an idea as to what is causing the crash.

Hello Atomix!
With Beta 2345 I was able to launch VDJ8 without having to set compability setting. Would be interesting to know what was the solution to it.

MrJackson, is that an additional star I'm seeing? :)
 
Yes you are right, but I was surprised where it came from. Have not learned what makes you get those stars ...
